2023 Food Guide Print Edition
Farmers, Ranchers, Fish Catchers, Foragers—We need you!
We’ve been talking about it for years, and it’s now finally in the works: a 2023 edition of the Mendocino County Local Food Guide—in print and scheduled to be released in the fall. If you are a farmer, rancher, fish catcher, forager, or other local food producer in Mendocino County, the printed guide and corresponding website connects your business to people who want what you offer. It’s free marketing, telling local food lovers in Mendocino County WHO is growing WHAT foods and WHERE they can buy them.
What do I need to do?
You can add or update your listing with our online form or a downloadable PDF (fill it out on your computer or print it out). If you use the PDF, mail the paper version to Anderson Valley Foodshed Group, PO Box 154, Boonville, CA 95415 or email the completed form to members [at] mendocinolocalfood.org.
Does it cost anything?
Nope. This effort is funded through a USDA grant managed by North Coast Opportunities and organized by the Anderson Valley Foodshed in partnership with the MendoLake Food Hub and Lemon Fresh Design.
About the Project
This project promotes farms, ranches, fish catchers, foragers, and other businesses selling food originating in Mendocino County. In order to be a trusted source of local food information, the listings need to be as accurate and complete as possible. We know you are busy people and appreciate the time you give to provide this information.
While the listings are the primary aspect of this project, a significant amount of supplemental content extends the usefulness of the guide:
food resources like community gardens, seed banks, community meals, and food banks
educational opportunities for farmers and other food professionals
guides for gardening and harvesting, as well as seafood availability throughout the year
insights into the benefits of buying food locally and supporting local farms
businesses like restaurants, caterers, and wineries who support local food by maintaining a garden and/or sourcing from local farmers
